ANOTHER WORLD

“Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world” (Jn 18:36 ESV)

Another WorldPastorKeith

In the kingdom of God, the surest way to lose something is to try to protect it, and the best way to keep it is to let it go. Christ said, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me” (Lk 9:23).

Christ turned from the fallen world of Adam and spoke about another world altogether, a world where Adam’s thinking is invalid and his technique is broken. He spoke of the kingdom of God whose laws are exactly opposite to those of the kingdom of men.

Therefore, the true Christian is a child of two worlds. He lives among fallen men, but when he is regenerated, he is called to live according to the laws and principles that underlie the new kingdom; he may get caught up with what Paul calls “carnal” living-trying to live in both worlds. That is why it is vital to give up our earthly “treasures” knowing our real treasures await us with the Lord eternal.

As we seek to “live the life” unto Jesus we find so many things to be thankful for; as we consider this thought may we hold on to the fact even though we are in it [the world] we do not have to be of it—in our daily walk let us continuously consider this hope.
